Trenchex Power Products Ltd is an environmentally responsible company, which operates under an integrated quality management system that commits it to regular audits on environmental and safety performance. It regularly measures and seeks to reduce its carbon footprint.
As part of our commitment to protecting the environment, we are registered on the National Packaging Waste Database for batteries.
The majority of batteries supplied are classified as “automotive” or “industrial” for non-road going machinery. We appreciate that it will usually be more convenient for you to recycle a discarded battery at a local centre, most likely operated by your council. We will however accept our batteries returned to our premises, or in the case of “automotive” batteries we can arrange for collection if you request it. We will then arrange recycling at no cost to you.
WEEE Information: Disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment
Under government regulations 2007 we are all obliged to ensure that the amount of waste on electrical and electronic equipment, such as electrical lawn products, is reduced, because some of the chemicals and metals in these items can be harmful to the environment and human health when disposed of in landfill sites. It is important therefore that such waste is separated from household waste, collected separately and recycled and recovered.
We will become part of a compliance scheme as required by law, to which we will make a financial contribution towards the recovery and recycling of the amount of electrical products which we place on the market.
As required we are part of a compliance scheme to which we make a financial contribution towards the recovery and recycling of the amount of electrical products which we place on the market.
Please separate discarded electrical goods and take them to your local recycling centre so that they can be recovered and recycled. If you see the sign of a wheeled bin crossed through on the label, the product cannot be placed in normal household waste.
As part of our commitment to protecting the environment, we are registered on the National Packaging Waste Database for batteries. Because we import batteries with some of the machines, we are legally classed a “producer” of industrial and automotive batteries under the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009. You are also able to purchase replacement batteries from us for our machines.
We supply batteries on some of our pedestrian controlled mowers and tillers as a source of ignition for the engines. Trenchex Power Products Ltd therefore “produce” lead acid batteries and are obliged to collect, within a reasonable time, waste industrial batteries supplied to an end user, for treatment and recycling, within any calendar year we place new industrial batteries on the market. This service is free of charge, but we do not pay scrap value for the batteries and we accept that for most people it will be more convenient to dispose of them at a local amenity site or authorised scrap dealer. If any of our customers require us to take back industrial batteries, our contact details are set out below. We will then agree the necessary arrangements for the return, proper treatment and recycling of, the waste industrial batteries.
We also supply batteries on our ride-on machines as a source of ignition for the engines. Trenchex Power Products Ltd are therefore obliged to collect, free of charge and within a reasonable time, waste automotive batteries for treatment and recycling supplied to a final holders e.g. dealers, scrap yards, end-of-life vehicle authorised treatment facilities, civic amenity sites, etc. in any calendar year we place new automotive batteries on the market. Although these batteries may have a value, we do not pay any money for them. We do not collect automotive batteries directly from end users. If this service is required, again our contact details are set out below. We will agree the necessary arrangements for the return, proper treatment and recycling of, the waste automotive batteries.
All packaging on our products is necessary for providing information and protecting the product until you put it into use. As an environmentally responsible business, we try to minimise the amount of packaging used, an approach which also helps us to keep costs down.
We re-use or recycle nearly all packaging removed at our premises. We also take part as required by legislation, in a scheme through which we contribute to the recovery and recycling of card, plastic, metal and wood packaging, proportionate to the amount we place on the UK market.
Please play your part, by separating the packaging which you remove and place it into the facilities provided by your local council.
